Community Network and Meetings:
We have created a private Facebook Group for Malibu Village Residents, you can request to join HERE.
Malibu Village GoFundMe has been created to equally support residents of the village. Jem Cohen Esq. will handle distribution outreach.
Reconstruction and Recovery Efforts:
We suggest you file for a tax deferral and a reassessment while the county works through what, if any, future tax abatements may be. The Los Angeles County Assessors Office offers this packet which provides additional context.

Governor Newsom has issued an executive order that will expedite rebuilding (this applies to all state agencies like HCD), key points are:
• CEQA and Coastal Act permits are waived for rebuilding in the same location, up to 110% of the original size.
• Local governments must issue rebuilding permits within 30 days using pre-approved plans and permit waivers.
• State agencies must report permitting delays within 30 days, updating every 60 days.
• HCD will recommend suspending certain Building Standards Code rules to speed up safe rebuilding.
• Plans to propose laws for faster rebuilding and fire-resistant construction incentives.
